[Closed] Google calendars stopped sharing - why?

My wife has an android phone, I have an iPod touch and we've been successfully sharing for a least a year but just discovered its not happening now and hasn't been for a month or two. It's causing chaos as you can imagine. Anyone any idea why this might be?

Thanks.

I think Google now have a not-so-secret strategy of reduced functionality on non-Google software (and possibly hardware).

past: Don't be evil
now: be as evil as you can get away with
future: Dr. [s]Strangelove[/s]Evil

So she needs an iPhone? ๐Ÿ™„ And we use the cloud?

Actually she'll be happy, the HTC is crap.

Which side isn't sharing?

What's she using on the iPhone to sync?

Everything was sharing fine. The HTC phone, being android, automatically has a google calendar. The iPod touch syncs through exchange I think (it's a while since I set it up) but all was fine. We have had problems in the past where the phone lost all its info, ie all the calendar entries entered on the phone disappeared but my iPod calendar entries were still on it. I suspect there's either something sinister as suggested by sfb above or somehow we've unchecked a box or something. Just wondered if anyone had a similar experience and maybe knew the answer.

Can't give you an answer till we know the question. What works, what doesn't?

Sometimes google accounts seem to stop synching all, or some calendars!

I'd google the exact phrase of your problem, I.e. "google calendar not synching iPod" and there'll be loads of answers.

I frequently have to log into my google accounts on the iPad in order to get all calendars to synch!

So when it stops, -both- devices are affected? In both directions?

I'd actually try and answer Dr Cougar's questions...

Ah, sorry, I thought that was the OP I was replying to. Imagine my confusion, etc.

FWIW, I have a similar setup, sharing a calendar between me (Android) and my OH (Apple). It's been quirky, but I've never seen it fail at Google's (cloud) end of things. The devices can be petulant, and sometimes the apps need updating to catch up with server-side changes, but the Google service is utterly bulletproof in my experience. </anecdote>

Yes, sorry. Both devices not sharing. I have tried logging in and out. Not tried updating apps though.

Update on this if anyone is interested.

I now have an android phone and have set up a further google calendar. It syncs with that and shares all the other calendars and the updates go to the iPod. Entries made on the iPod don't sync with anything - to get this to work I had to go through Microsoft exchange and I suspect there's a glitch here now. However, my wife's phone (HTC wildfire) has not synced since 4/12 apparently and I can't see why.

Now I've an android phone I can see how truly poor my wife's is - not sure if it's just that model or it's a Friday afternoon phone.

So to summarise - back and forth between my android phone and calendars is fine; iPod receives updates from calendars but can't send; wife's phone is uncommunicative!
