[Closed] Good God, Facebook privacy settings are appalling

It used to be that the problem with Facebook privacy was that there basically wasn't any - either your profile was totally invisible or exposed to the world.

Now it's different - they've made it so complex that whenever you try to make any change, the whole process seems oriented entirely around placing the maximum number of obstacles and confusions between you and your intended goal. And there isn't really any help or explanation either. I note that it's easier to get help if you've adopted the insipid new timelines thing, than if you haven't, which seems a cynical ploy. Basically they've employed too many people who are all trying to justify their existence by introducing piecemeal "innovations" and the result is a convoluted mess.

Why do people have friends on facebook that they feel that they have to limit what they can see on your profile? If I don't want everyone to know something then it doesn't go on facebook.

According to my settings most of my information is not shared, but when I do a preview of how anyone would see it, a lot of my information is shown ๐Ÿ˜
