anyone got any ideas/prior experience? nuts don't seem to be working.

And any good recipes for grey squirrel?

Don't forget you're obliged to despatch the bugger if you catch it! Humanely of course, whatever that means.

When I was trying to trap the one in my loft, it showed interest in bacon rind (before the wind blew the trap shut and it never went near it again!)

the plan is to BBQ the little fekker. no point in catching then releasing really.

does giving it to the cat count as humane 😉

peanuts the sort you put out for birds not ready salted or dty roasted 😉 worked for me when we had them.

Chocolate Digestives worked as bait when our house had a nest of the grey vermin. They do make a bit of a high-pitched squeal when the trap closes though - my wife wasn't too keen on that part 😉

trapping an introduced species of vermin is perfectly legal. i don't think clubbing baby seals is?

trap em with a red squirrel, I heard that the greys love killin them.

By the way grey squirrel is very tasty, you can get free grey squirrel pate for a donation the the red squirrel protection league (or sumat).
