In June I have to fly into Glasgow airport and then next day get a lift from Glasgow Central station to Oban.
What would be a nice, and close to the station, hotel?
Also anyone able to recommend a decent car service in case the lift falls through?
Thanks

Glasgow Central station to Oban.

There is a train. Albeit from Queen Street station, a few minute walk from Central Station.

Within a few minutes walk of Central there are a good few hotels: Raddison Blu, Jury's Inn, Mercure, Merchant City etc.

Hotel Indigo is alright, as is Ibis Styles (cheap and cheerful), Malmaison can be had cheap ish but I wasn't that impressed last time. Theres also Citizen M up the hill which is always alright. Next to that is also the brand new Maldron Hotel which is also good. All within a few minutes walk of the station and close to the Pot Still pub which is great.

Glasgow Central station to Oban

Oban train goes from Queen St, not Central, just in case. It's only a 10 minute walk between each.

Loads of decent hotels. I'd actually stay away from Central Station. It's grim around there.

Citizen M is good value and close-ish. Malmaison is nice and well priced. The Dakota is very nice but not sure on price. THink it recently won best hotel in the city.

It's interesting at times I'll give you that!! I normally end up in the Jury's Inn near central when I'm up due to work. It's one of the few (that's not Travelodge) that's in budget 🙁 The other in-budget options are usually grimmer

It feels as though the police/ council have given up on it completely. It's not a stretch to say the streets around central are pretty much an open air drugs market and main hangout for the addicted, destitute and homeless. It's very sad to see

My work colleagues used to stop at the Carlton George but largely because they were piss heads and used to hammer the free bar. It’s acceptable as a hotel and convenient for Queens Street station but I’d still look elsewhere.

I work in the city centre and use the IBIS on Waterloo St when I'm out on the beer. £60ish for a night (no breakfast included) - place is brand new, easy walk from the stations, has all the essentials

Voco grand central Hotel was nice when n I stayed there. It's just had a massive refurb during lockdown and you couldn't be closer to Central station.
