The last few items I tried to snipe with Gixen, I have not won. I also note that all three winning bids were exactly £1 higher than my bid (I have used a random pence figure).
How so?

I find that bidding the most I am prepared to pay resolves this issue.....

Agreed, the issue is that a sniper is meant to be last moment, so how come its exactly £1 more, unless gixen bids too early...

I use Ezsniper, and you can set the bidding point. Even then, they need to 'bid' before it ends and thats usually 1-2 seconds before end- so ebay auto can still beat you.
Sniping is good because you don't hike the price up- not much good if someone has bid over the odds via ebay already.
