... plus content, a few audio books, TV program downloads etc.

How? Legit purchases are linked to an account. I don't have the Google account details of the aged rello I'm buying for, they don't have an Amazon account, and I don't want to leave mine. I just want to hand over a basic android tablet with content I've put on it, that runs without an internet connection, and that can be safely left around unlocked where people come and go...

(I was thinking of a Fire because cheap. But you can only pass these on clean.)

There must be a blindingly obvious and straightforward way to do this (say for kids?), if you could point me at it??

Set up another account in their name, linked to your account ?

Surely you could later change the account's linked email if you needed to

When I bought a Kindle last, there was an option to pre-link it to someone else's account or leave it unlocked. So you could create an Amazon a/c for them.

How that applies to the Fire though I've no idea, this was a regular Kindle.

Could you set them up a Play/Google account and fund it with vouchers/gift cards?

I have tablets to set up for the kids Xmas presents and that was my thinking.

I may well have my account on the device but as a separate user. I don't know if that works (Android).

...thanks.

I think it's probably about making a "restricted profile" in settings. A bit fiddly but there we go.

If there's any other ideas?
