I was trying to register a sim yesterday and every time I entered sim card code and basic personal details, it said "oops, we've got gremlins".

I tried 3 different browsers and checked their twitter, but nothing to explain.

Tried again this morning and still won't work. Can't ask in their forums, as I can't register.

Any ideas please? Not a great start to changing network 🙂

Thanks, but sim wasn't even in phone. This was just registering the sim with giffgaff using laptop.

Last time I registered, 3 weeks ago ... inserted sim card into phone got some message and set up account on their website. Had to manually change internet and mms settings. Since then, no problems whatsoever.

Just tried that but made no difference, thanks though.

Think I'll stick with robbing Vodafone gits at this rate!

Recently got a Giffgaff SIM to put in a GSM burglar alarm, all good. Then this week they send another SIM, different number etc.

WTF.

Did you read the bit where they explain this is for you to give away and if the person uses it you get a fiver* credit?

*or something

Giffgaff seems shite at the moment. Their 3g coverage has gone really patchy. Maybe something to do with the 4g rollout.

There are alternatives to giffgaff such as lebara(vodafone) and lyca mobile(o2). Worth considering?
