Ok so in the last 2 weeks I have been stopped by the police 3 times! Everytime they ask for my driving licence, which I duly hand over. Every single time 5 minutes passes while they sit in their car and make 'checks' I presume, and one even went as far as removing the keys from my car while he did said 'checks'.
So when I enquired what was up all I got was a standard 'acting on information' type answer.
Who do I piss, moan whine whinge to? I have no problem co operating but I'm getting a bit fed up with it now.
Your car is obviously showing up on their ANPR system as either not being insured, no MOT or no Tax. Added to that, someone may have printed your number plates up for a similar car and used during a crime. A phone call to the DVLA should shed light on the matter. Although, the cops should be decent enough to explain to you.
Either that, or you're a dodgy ****er and you're on their radar...time to fess up me ol' son.
Car is fully road legal, hhmmm, maybe cloning is the answer.
Maybe you just drive &/or act suspiciously?
Most roadside pulls are just hunches that the plod has
Many (many) years ago i was stopped by the Police nearly every week, however that may have been because i drove like a complete pratt.
Have you checked your car is on the insurance database...

Very funny post RudeBoy
Do they slap you round the face and then truncheon you in the legs? If not I don't see what you have to complain about.
Next time they stop you, get out of your car and put your hands in your pocket.
They hate that.
Just don't stop next time. Haven't you ever seen the Dukes of Hazzard?
at fourth stop i would ask for their reason and if they dont give one threaten them with police complaints authority as it is starting to border on harassment
Ziggy, is you black?
Do you drive a Toyota Hilux with long beard?
๐
Do you have a large and noisy exhaust...
I have some experience from both sides of the fence...
If they stop you, they have to give the legal power and a stop form officially, and they should tell you why. we were trained never to try the "routine stop" as that is not a legal stop, however if they wish to stop you to see your documents then all is legal. The police do have the normal documents that pop up on anpr, however there are also other pieces of software that they run the numbers through, it could be the car has a marker placed against it from a previous owner or even someone wanting to annoy you could provide "information" via crimestoppers and this gets added, next time you get stopped ask for a stop form and keep them and then you could go with evidence, i don't doubt you but some people comment that they have been stopped 10 times when that isn't the case so such forms will add weight to any enquiry you make.
