Just been to post a £25 iTunes voucher to someone for a present.
Wanted it signed for,so told the lady how much the item was worth.
She told me that it wouldn't be covered first class signed for so I needed "super dooper postage plus".£5.90 thank you.
I just knew I was being mugged but it had to be posted there and then.
Had the chance to look up how much a first class signed for will cover you for and I was well in.
Don't reckon I will get far banging the counter , so who do I need to drop her in the poo to?
Have had a look on P.O website but no joy.Still tempted to go and bollock her, robbing cow.

prices at my local post office some times come under sometimes over. I have no idea where they get them from but they don't even match up to the rates on the PO website!!

Anything up the value of £50 (I think) is covered under normal poostage as long as you get a proof of posting, okay they don't sign the other end but it's still insured. Stupid place!

First class would have covered you.
That said, can you not 'gift' iTunes vouchers on the interweb somehow?

she was probably right - cash or coins ar enot covered by normal first class cover and I'd imagine an itunes voucher woudl be treated as cash as it's not like a crossed cheque.

Can I send cash or coins by First Class?
No, cash or coins must be sent using Special Delivery™ 9.00am or Special Delivery™ Next Day or, if you want to send cash or coins abroad, using International Signed For or Airsure. For more information read our advice about sending cash

you can claim upto £46 with a 'proof of poastage' iirc - this covers you on 1st and 2nd class mail.

But a voucher is NOT cash or coins. Sounds like she ripped you off or was trained badly.
