Loads of us must have done this. He's not massively keen ("I've already got a bike"- cheap BMX), but I think it would be a nice thing for us to do. Because its me pushing the idea I don't want to spend a fortune on it- up to £150. So those of you who have bought for sons before which option is best, bearing in mind that whatever I spend on it will be redundant when he's grown out of it.

1.a 24" Specialised Kids Mountain bike or similar that will do him for 1/2 years or so.

2. Keep watching on Ebay for a 5+ year old 26" size small. He's just about big enough and it'll last that way 2/3 years

3. Look at Pinkbike- there were what looked like too good to be true bargains on there. Does that mean they are dodgy?

4. Do a Decathlon brand new £150 looks ok (and I can buy a helmet/gloves too).

In Hebden Bridge. Any suggestions much appreciated.
