i can't seem to download eastern europe road maps for the gps i have: a Magellan roadmate.
can anyone suggest how to get them or recommend a GPS with them? i'm not that happy with the one i have anyway.
it's for car use only.
thanks
You got an android phone? Osmand (free app) + open source maps may cover you, depending on where you're looking for...
thanks flatboy.
presumably that mean WITH 3G connection tho?
Copilot for an Android phone*, or some Garmin units have all of Europe cover.
* all maps are downloaded to your phone during installation, so you don't need an active data connection all of the time
Osmand uses offline mapping, as long as you have downloaded the map data you require before you start using it, obviously. Depending on where you are going, it might be that the total set of maps for multiple countries is too large to make that practical, but I have the entire UK map saved on mine and it's a few hundred MBs. Definitely worth a look, it works and is free.
Wot cranberry sez. 😀
nice one, thanks fellas.
i'll give both of them a try
CoPilot seems to be chargin gme 24 quid to download maps.
Noying!
i'll stick with osmand but for those recommendign CoPilot, is it worth it you think?
