Had a bout of gastroenteritis just over 3 weeks ago, severe diarrhoea and stomach cramps etc for about a week to 10 days, so it's been about a week and a half since it sort of cleared up but I started suffering cramps when waking up in my calf muscles and still generally feel tired and sluggish, still the odd bit of diarrhoea and stomach rumbles, out on the bike I feel worn out and it seems hard work now, leg muscles feel like they are about to go into cramp, struggling to do half my commute - I'm driving halfway at the moment, and don't think I could do the whole route at the moment - 13 miles each way.
Any suggestions on how to get my energy back? I'm drinking plenty of fluids and eating as normal?
Surely I should be over the illness now? Someone at work said it sounds like I now have IBS? ... What should I be eating to stop the ongoing stomach problems, I'm guessing boring bland foods?
The doctor I saw said they don't give anti-biotics for it as they cause other problems and you just have to see it through, said it takes 7 - 10 days. 😐
