its been pointed out to me that the neck on my acoustic needs adjusting a little, but is it worth paying the extra and getting the guitar 'set up' properly (when i bought it the shop checked it over but that was all - i've had it 2 years and have only ever changed strings) whilst i'm at it?

indeed as a very very limited player of basic ability will i even notice a difference from what i have now?

Yes, it probably is. What type of guitar is it?

If you're happy leave it as it is 😉

a good shop will check it for you and tell you if the set up needs changing or is ok as it is

I got my guitar set up and restrung by a shop and it inspired me to play so much so that I have played almost every day for the last 4/5 months.

It was £30 very well spent for me:)
