it's likely that we'll meet one of these two in then next round, so I'll be interested to see how both are playing
.
I'd go 2-1 to Germany

I think ghana will produce the goods against one of these. I also rather sadly think we will fail to get to the next round which will suck as i like a half decent run.

Algeria will dive all over the place against us getting someone sent off and earn a draw.

Only the semis I'd be very happy reaching the semi finals

I take it you didn't watch the Algeria v Slovenia game then? England will trample over both of them, have a bit of faith, we're going to slide into the next round with a game against Ghana or Germany.

Preferably the weaker Ghana side will be our second round opponents who i did have worries about until they lost Essien......

Yeah I did see it down the gym, Algeria are as dirty as you get at this level of football, we'll have a man sent off. God knows what we'll do with our goalkeeper.

I wish I could keep faith but this is the worse England side in fair while, just lucky that we have capello who does not panic.

Germans are amongst my favorites for the comp along with Spain and Brazil, they pretty much always deliver despite never being good going into a tournament.

As for England, I can see 1/4 finals at the most to be honest unless something magical happens

They're dirty so we'll have a man sent off? I don't see your reason or logic for thinking that.

Why, and what "better" england team are you specifically comparing this one too?

Five nil to the Germans at this rate me thinks the Aussie defence is a shambles!

Klose is leading from the front, his movement is f&cking phenomenal.......didn't fancy Germany that much but on this performance they're up there now for me.........

Oh my lord, no; but to be fair, I'm guessing that was posted in the first 5mins. The Aussies are pretty shocking at the back but the Germans are shifting the ball around beautifully - great movement, great vision.

Germany look great, can't wait to see the group of death games.

They're dirty so we'll have a man sent off? I don't see your reason or logic for thinking that.

They'll dive and talk our guys into the book. I feel a very similar 2006 squad looked and played with more confidence with the exception of Gerrard, the left back and emile we looked weak. Sure rooney, lampard, crouch even say carrick my be able to step up, but our defense is slow and terry is not famed for his positional sense.

Still bring on Friday love the World Cup even the minnows.

Typical Germany really. Big tournament and they rise to it. Great football unlike the reticent sh*te I saw yesterday.

Our defence isn't slow, we've got two wing backs in the shape of Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson who are like f&cking lightning, love going forward, and link up beautifully with Lennon and Milner. Our biggest mistake yesterday was bringing on SWP, it should have been Joe Cole and i think we'd have gone on and pressed for another goal. Fair play we have lost that drive from Rio but Ledley if fit can do the job with the Mr Reliable JT.

Sure rooney, lampard, crouch even say carrick my be able to step up, but our defense is slow and terry is not famed for his positional sense.

Still bring on Friday love the World Cup even the minnows.

We have 900 england caps in this squad fella, experience, good attitudes, and bags of talent. Carrick is certainly not a player that is going to step up, Rooney & Lampard will, Crouch may do but it's doubtful because Heskey has been selected to do a job of holding the ball up like someone of his stature should be employed to do and i think he'll get most of the games unless he gets injured (which is highly likely).

We'll be in the second round, fact, if we face ze' Germans, i fear for our progression, if we face Ghana - we're walking into the Quarters.

I always wonder how Crouch's brain can manage to control all those yards of arm and leg at all, never mind well enough to play international football.

nice touch by Lucas Neil. Few seconds into the second half and a premeditated knee in the back. Can't even put it down to being wound up, I know he was in the first half but he should have calmed down over the break.

Cole and johnson are class acts and I like cole even more after his cheating antics (who wouldn't at his age with his money) but johnson esprecially is not the first to be back. Our centre backs are slow terry and carra, I'd prefer to play dawson.

Lets see hey, ghana are by no means through likewise us. I would LOVE to play the germans! 5 -1 even Heskey scored!!

typical German world cup team - reminds me of the way the started Japan 2002 no one fancied them & they rocked up drubbed the Saudi's 8-0, we all thought it was just cos the Saudi's were naive & they ended up in the final.
