My friend is recovering from a discectomy and now needs to gently build his core muscles to protect his back for cycling activities in the future.
I've told him to swing a 32kg kettlebell but he thinks he is not ready for that yet... 🙄
Does anyone have any tips/exercises/regimes he can follow? He will not attend classes such as yoga or pilates.
Surely he would be best speaking to a physio as part of his overall recovery efforts.
Kettlebell exercises are good fro the core but aren't exactly 'gentle' to start with.
He may do well just sitting more on an exercise ball which will help with core stability and can be controlled by the amount of time he spends on it.
I was joking about the kettlebell, will mention the exercise ball though, that looks like a good idea
Any other tips before I let the thread die in obscurity..?
