@brads

Garbage news channel . Tried watching but failed after two attempts when a black presenter said golliwogs couldn’t be racist as she loved hers as a child .

In a similar vein was reading some of the comments on their ‘Christopher Biggins Says Wokies Would Literally Hang Benny Hill From A Lampost Today’ interview (someone has to) and the fans were angry at Biggins for being a ‘wokeist’ because he said the Black & White Minstrels Show was ‘a bit much’ or somesuch.

Cue gnashing and wailing in comments, saying that ‘them blacks loved the minstrels, it was them white wokies wot complained’

So now Christopher Biggins is on the antiwoke shit-list. What a time to be alive. Who will they wheel in next? I’m hoping for Alex Jones dressed as Widow T****y doing an anti-woke vs woke’ Punch And Judy show in blackface.

It may just be the 5D chess move required to reset our culture back to before the wokies.

GB News viewers boycott channel? Fake news I'm afraid, they have to have a viewership first for them to subsequently boycott.

I've not watched since it went live - I find mega size fonts distracting so didn't even get to the content. I remember though the channel previews, one presenter said 'I didn't vote for Brexit but I take on board the views of those that did' which I interpreted as 'I'll believe anything you say as long as there's a big pay cheque in it for me!'

Until I remembered that it’s main target audience are probably elsewhere (ie on youtube, social media etc) telling each other that the black gay marxist scientist elites are resetting us with implants from the fake poison virus vaccine and that social-distancing is for MSM-brainwashed middle-class shadowy-jew-billionaire-funded champagne-communist bicycle-bothering wokie-sheeple

Its worse than that. Taking the knee is anti-semitic. It's true Melanie Phillips says so.

So if you take the knee you are basically a Nazi, and if this is true, then taking the knee is the same as Nazi salute. So the two gestures are equivalent.

So to restore balance GB News presenter will now perform Nazi salutes.

Enquiring minds demand answers!

Shame, as it started out well. If you'd said 'Enquiring minds wanna know' I'd have given you a wink emoji.

Damnit. Need to brush up. Satire’s a minefield tho? Today feels a bit like the 1970s again when a percentage of the UK population thought ‘Alf Garnett’ was funny because the character was a bigot while others though he was funny because they too were bigots. (I was of course so young at the time that I just thought he was funny because of the way he spoke ‘silly old moo’)

At least in the 80’s we all knew what was what. Love was a battlefield (was what was what)

Now we’ve got people galvanising and cheerleading ‘fighting back’ (persecuting) against gays because a gay choir thought it was politically expedient to sing a song satirising the extreme right wing characterisation of them.

‘They’re not even hiding it anymore, they want our children!!!!!’

https://southfloridagaynews.com/National/san-fran-gay-men-s-chorus-song-sparks-harassment-death-threats.html

The song, “A Message from the Gay Community,” was designed as satire, tongue-in-cheek and irreverent, the group said. However, far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of InfoWars, and others, purposefully took the lyrics out of context and said the song is “pedophilic.” An InfoWars online article posted July 7 brought “death threats, vile attacks, false accusations, doxing and other forms of harassment,”

Sad times. Desperately dangerous times, IMHO. No doubt many agree with that statement, but for diametrically opposed reasons/opinions.

Does that bring ‘balance’, or war?

Me and the eldest had a very entertaining 10 mins telling his mother how much we hated Alex Jones. Her response - ‘is it coz she’s Welsh?’ 😂

Okln Virgin their channel is right next to the "kids" channel.

Makes you think.

This thread had made me take a look at their channel. I don't recognise anyone on it?

Edit: Can't believe Neil Oliver is on this cluster fudge of a channel!😐

The remaining advertisers are fascinating to see too. Bullion investments, British Army recruiting and an awning supplier to make the outdoors, indoors.

Only in a civic way, he's one of those people Scots nationalists love to hate

The donkey sanctuary ads during ITV coverage of the TdF are what puzzle me

Andrew Neils GB News launch coincided with the launch of the Euro's. I'm guessing that they hadn't factored in how a huge football tournament would affect the mindset of the nation, in much the Same way that Cameron failed to realise the potential consequences of calling a referendum during the last Euro's. (Putin realised...)

Both got the opposite of what they wanted. Cameron wanted remain and got brexit and GB News wanted to throw more petrol on the culture wars bonfire at the exact moment the country wanted to forget about politics for a month and get pissed whilst watching the footy.

We might have dodged a bullet, had they launched the channel 6 months ago things might have worked out differently.

Wonder how long the British Army ads will stay up? That's not a good look and looks even worse as every other advertiser pulls out.

Also curious that A.N. has gone to France on a holiday with no date to return to his show.

Being Brexit supporter he lives in the south of France. He broadcasts from their.

More recent viewer-comments are brutal since the show’s BLMgate (and their Grand Poobah shuffling off to his Fresidence)!

Andrew Kneel

Need now to rinse eyes out with remains of cold coffee. Then report to my Elite Overlords for having sent traffic to the enemy.

How naive I am - I thought 'Woke Watch' was a parody of GB News that existed only in meme-world, not an actual feature.

Pretty Standard section on 'The One show' already isn't it?

Normally they'll cut from that to a heart warming story about a Blind, sheepdog that solves quadratic equations for fun, just for a bit of absurdist balance*...

Oh right, you meant that Alex Jones...

*(I don't actually watch the One show).

I almost yearn for the days when someone on Twitter with six followers and a football team badge in their profile would take the time to explain the intricacies of supranational trade agreements and the GATT-24 clause, peppering the text with words like "simples" and "innit".

Rosie right, surely?

Nah that’s just it , she isn’t.
She looked like she wanted the ground to open beneath her during the golliwog discussion.

She is a genuinely good new anchor.

What was Guto Harri doing when he kneed? I can't recall other presenters/anchors doing it anywhere. Surely a presenter/anchor person should avoid becoming the story themselves? But maybe I don't watch enough TV and I am not going to start watching GBNews just to acquaint myself about it.

What was Guto Harri doing when he kneed?

A protest against the beating that he was going to give to his agent for getting him the gig on GBN.

What was Guto Harri doing when he kneed?

Demonstrating that on GB News the presenters can have individual opinions that clash with the station's outlook, or those of it's editorial stance, or audience's profile without fear or favour...

So that went well

GBnews is hilariously bad

GBnewsfails in twitter is worth a follow

The fact that theyve cancelled Harri, because the channel got cancelled by its viewers, all of whom are apparently anti-cancel culture is surely the peak of irony

Meanwhile bitter frenchman & vocal brexiteer Andrew Neil has been angrily tweeting about nazis or something from his home in Provence, he's in week 4 of his 2 week break from the channel 😁

Alistair Stewart has just quit too (apparently it was his horses fault)

It is encouraging that this British version of Foxnews is failing so badly

As for Anti-woke watch, have they seen this:

In this climate a pregnant transgender man emoji is going to launch a shitstorm of hatred, intolerance and desperate outrage-grifting like you've never seen.

I remember when it was just piers morgan professionally crying over spilt eggs because of the new vegan salad emoji. That seems by contrast all cuddly and funny now. Almost. But pregnanttransgender emoji?

Expect to see a massive rise (on the current rise) in transphobic hate crime and persecution (and by extension anti-gay) 😥

Just for some perspective I read the Galopuk 2020 report:

in the last year alone:

A quarter of trans people had experienced or been threatened with physical assault.

Nearly one in five had experienced or been threatened with sexual assault

As one research respondent states:
“The fear is particularly prevalent when public figures – politicians, high profile newspaper columnists etc – demonise trans people in print or on air; it makes the fear more pronounced because you worry someone’s going to act on it.”

Will ‘public figures’ ever take responsibility and deciding stop exploiting minorities by spreading fear of minorities? It already feels like the oldest game.

This thread, and the story itself just get better and better. Pretty much impossible to distinguish between satire and reality.

I’m imagining Andrew Neill doing a ‘from my third home in Provence’ intro much like that Desmond codger used to do on the radio from Perthshire.

And Pat Benatar for half time entertainment. Mint!

It may just be the 5D chess move required to reset our culture back to before the wokies.

Is he going to pull people's arms out of their sockets if he loses?

Latest: GB News pulls Guto Harri off air after ‘taking the knee’

Could be worse for him I suppose. Did they televise that or was it done off-camera?

Was not, was not was, was pat benatar

Did she walk the dinosaur?

As well as Alistair Stewart going, so the off air executives are leaving as well  Gill Penlington, a producer at  CNN and Sky News, went last week and just now, another John McAndrew the channel's director of programming has gone today

Abandoning a rats ship sinking like...re-arrange into a well known phrase or saying...

Alistair Stewart is on there?

well not any more

be interesting to see if others start leaving now

if their viewership remains this low, how long before the backers pull the plug?

re the exces leaving

its the moderate ones going

https://twitter.com/jimwaterson/status/1416042384689881090

I suspect that the reaction will be to go even more right wing & Foxnewsy

Now there’s a new ‘Not GB News’ channel sprung up! 🤣

Either

1. some random griping about having being ‘let down’, or

2. satire of someone griping having being ‘let down’ or

3. Andrew Neil, a few bottles of de porto deep behind enemy territory, trying to figure how to work this youtube thingumajig and see if he can’t right some wrongs?

Think I’m experiencing pronounced meta-cringe-Inception-by-proxy at this point. That Guto bloke gives me the cringe too.

Going to stick with the 1980s theme and maybe a Chinglish later for full-fat Friday. It’ll be OK. Pat said that my dreams will All Come True In The End.

If Andrew Neill is working from France, he might need to check whether or not he has the right to work there post Brexit?? My missus is an employment lawyer & this issue is causing businesses much grief.
