When I look at a map on Connect there are a wealth of green segments of trail and road littered all over the place. What are they?

I thought they were 'registered' cycle paths but im probably wrong

" safe cycle routes " according to a map from our local council which matches up with the Garmin map.

Be mindful that these are sometimes not suitable for road bikes as I discovered 70 miles away from anywhere. One slashed tyre, one crash, two punctures and a pretty pissed off ton thine later I got back to proper road.
