We will be in touch
Hi
I'm after some string type lighting to string around a pergola in the garden. There's so many to choose from on t'internet.
Anyone got any solar ones - are they any good?
I've had some 240v ones (with transformer) before that filled up with water - I want to leave them out all summer at least, has anyone had any decent ones that last?
Can you get them with replaceable bulbs? Do the LED bulbs last/ not break so I don't need to worry about replacements?
I could always suspend/ bury a cable if needed for 240v if poss.
Any ideas where to go? Value for money ie not el cheapo and don't last but also not overpaid for rubbish.
Obvs I'll condemn us to a summer of rain once the arrive...

Solar tend to be not massively bright, and quality can vary. We've had a set on the arbour for over 5 years. We keep thinking they are going to break, but work perfect once they have had sun for a day. They don't get much charge in winter though, even with the panel in direct sunlight, the angle is very low in winter. We've had others that have broken very quickly.
Not the best pic, but I have these round my garden - Oxyled string lights on amazon. They are powered by 240 from the shed though

I have solar on the bomb-shelter-bike-store, they are bloody good - Not bright enough to light the garden, but a lovely mood light. Came from Amazon, 3m long, they're very good.
They pop on about 09.30, and I was up at 05.30 last week and they were still on.
