Need to beef up the security for my garage , it’s at  the end of the garden.

I also need to get somthing to make it harder to get into the up and over door ?

and also thinking about an alarm but don’t have a clue what’s good and bad.

Thanks

Give the credit card a workout here:  https://securityforbikes.com

And get a camera of some kind. Netgear Arlo is good for a detached garage as the cameras are battery powered and connect to the base station wirelessly.

You need the shoot bolts that are mounted to the inside of the door.  Alarm, possibly a shed alarm but they can be defeated.  The option could be a PIR that sets off a buzzer in the house.  An ip camera inside might be useful.

Thanks. Ive ordered four of the bolt things for the corners of the door.

Just seems each time I find a way to make it more secure it also makes it a pain to use day to day.

This might seem novel but my car does go in the garage

Sounds like you don't have enough bikes :p

I had a PIR/alarm combo thing inside, hefty chains + ground anchor and bolt locks for the door. Like you say though they all add extra inconvenience for you though. The battery in the PIR died a couple of years ago (not replaced) and the chains are just stacked up to the side, I only bother with the door bolts now (not too much faff assuming you have matched keys).

I got one of these (with a slave) for the shed.

https://www.ultrasecuredirect.com/wireless-indoor-alarms/shed-garage-alarms/battery-gsm-wireless-ultrapir-alarm/3g-battery-ultrapir-gsm-alarm-007-1150-p1167.html

Calls and sends a text when triggered and *really* loud.

Only pain is havign to remove the SIM to make a call every few weeks as PAYG sims die if you don't make a call every now and again (texts aren't enough).

put another shed next to it and get one of these to live in it.

A night mine gores effing mental and wakes the whole street up when the car thieves are trying to find unlocked house doors to nip in and get the keys.
