I've been using Projectlibre but it is so limiting in terms of formatting (can't change text size, printing is awful, can't put company logo on chart etc). Are there any free alternatives?

have you tried gantter as part of google drive suite?

I'm just trying it now. There still doesn't seem to be a way to format the document much, although I haven't finished looking through it yet.
Edit: It's rubbish. There is no way to format the print to fit a page.

fortunately not had to generate a Gantt for a few years now, but used to use this occasionally:

I had to resort to good ole Excel in the end.
I really wish MS would release a stripped-down version of Project; something that didn't cost £500 and only did Gantt charts.
