Currently labouring with what feels like a frozen hip - had the shoulder a few years ago so could be aiming at the full set. Has anyone suffered from one of these - it's apparently not as common as the shoulder?

No physios available atm so I could be on the wrong track, but it's that same sort of pain right in the joint, inner around the groin and hip flexors, fairly constant for 2 months now. Movement is actually fine in plane, so I can ride OK, it's rotating motion that sparks pain (e.g. getting off the bike).

With the shoulder I found that physio was basically useless for a long while as it was inflamed, it was only when it started to die down (with the help of a deep saline injection) that it started to do some good. Similar story for the hip from anyone who's had this?

I did manage to get a physio appt for next week, I hadn't realised they were open yet, so will hopefully get an accurate diagnosis then.

I had something similar last year. OK pedalling, some night pain, couldn't cross my leg over. Getting off the bike was a challenge. Saw sports physio and gradually settled over about 6-8 months. Now have a shoulder issue which is much more painful.

Frozen shoulder is a weird one BigR, if that is what you have - mine got completely better, just took ages. So if it is something similar with my hip then it's a good prognosis, just not looking forward to months and months of it.

This is interesting - crashed heavily on the road bike 10 days ago, road rash is healing but had a nasty stabbing pain in groin/inner thigh that came on a few days later.

Went back to Minor Injuries last week in case they'd missed a fracture but they just said it was a strain

Garry,
I had a labral tear diagnosis following a contrast MRI and also had a steroid injection which didn't help too much. Surgery is an option but unless it gets worse the balance is on managing it with pain relief and physio.
Apparently it is quite common but asymptomatic.
