How long can you hold your breath for ?

๐Ÿ˜ณ 50 seconds is not very good I think.

World record appears to be just over 22 mins ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I think if you have to use a defibrilator afterwards it doesn't count?

51

@25 I thought I'm not gonna make 30 here

Then at 35 time speeded up and I was @45 double quick ...although I could "hear" the blood pumping in my ears

Held on to 51 beating the early marker,,, then had every one in the office looking at me strange as I gasped for air....

Mmmm sweet sweet air

I've got Hora to take a good lungfull of air, then I've taped his head up with duct tape. We're going to try and shatter the 22 minutes mark.

Will keep you posted

You are through to the IT helpdesk of MegaCorp. We're sorry, but all of our IT staff are currently unavailable as they've all blacked out after holding their breath for too long.

For anyone looking to better their time, some tips can be found here:

Losing weight and giving up smoking may not be realistic within the time frame of this afternoon.

๐Ÿ˜ฏ TMI!

What you two get up to in the privacy of your own [s]bedrooms[/s] homes is your business, and yours only.

Nah, he'll be ok. Whats the worst thing that can happen starving Hora's brain of oxygen?

The bits of him I can see through the duct tape have gone a funny colour. He's definitely not breathed yet. I think we could do half an hour here

Anyone else find that after 30s or so they can't think of anything other than "oof, going to need to breathe soon"? Makes you wonder if being able to forget about it would help...

Hora and binners practice their 'put your hand up if you need to breath' technique prior to the taping up.

has he put his hand up yet?

what makes you better at holding your breath?
is it lung capacity? is it better and more efficient use of oxygen? is it tolerance of carbon dioxide? is it lack of muscles?
can you hold your breath for longer underwater because you have to?
