Audacity
Agree on audacity
Audacity
I have that, but on Windows 7 there is nowhere I can find to select "what you hear" as the sound source 🙁
[i]Recording
Audacity can record live audio through a microphone or mixer, or digitize recordings from cassette tapes, vinyl records, or minidiscs. With some sound cards, it can also capture streaming audio.
* Record from microphone, line input, or other sources.
* Dub over existing tracks to create multi-track recordings.
* Record up to 16 channels at once (requires multi-channel hardware).
* Level meters can monitor volume levels before, during, and after recording.

download helper add-on for firefox ?
that would work if the window that pops up had any controls 🙂 This the Beeb...
ah, got it, if anyone is interested:
1) right click speaker icon in task bar
2) pick recording devices
3) right click list and check "show disabled devices"
4) stereo mix shows up disabled
5) right click it and select "enable"
I have no idea why it's not on by default
This the Beeb...
iplayer ? - there's a hack for that somewhere (does radio & tv), makes it think you're an ipod (or something), not sure it works in real time though
thanks, I'm sorted now 🙂
