I only ever see badgers dead on the side of roads. Foxes everywhere though.
Looks like a cat to me.
*edit - why? Size, prominent metacarpal pad (evident on the print adjacent to the coin) although could be a fox as some other prints show the 'toes' (digital pads) closer together.
