So, no Flintoff! Trott to come in with the bat, perhaps?

Weather looks good until Monday for Leeds, here goes!

Priot had a back spasm playing football in the warm-up, definite parallels with McGrath!

Kiwi umpire refuses to give decision in favour of Portaroo bowler. Hmm. Greg Chappell's moment of shame still coming back to bite them in the ass time and time again? 😉

Good start this from Hilfenhaus, good line and length (though that bouncer was a bit ropey 🙂 )

I don't think anyone could claim that either Aussies or yorkshire people have inferiority complexes?

😆 Aussie's don't shag sheep, our women are way too hot, here's a typical representative:

That might throw the cat amongst the pigeons, the English batting lineup is looking a little weak without Flintoff & KP...

Bopara is pathetic. The ball didn't even do anything.
How long will centuries against a non motivated village team keep him in the team ? Anyone remember Sri Lanka ?

Gower is probably right about Bopara -they should bat him down the order until he has more experience. Ponting batted at 6 for years.

Not knowing owt about the sport but

(a) Can England lose the Ashes still?
(b) Is that not what normally happens? Fantastic start, rave reviews, lots of hype, then......uh oh?! As dead as a Dingos Drongo

Bopara couldn't hit a barn door with a shovel. He's absolutely no right to be batting that far up the order

He's bowling quite well today, getting some movement... he'll get an LBW shortly, I'd put a little bet on it 😉

Game over 🙁

For Grumm...

[url=

over man, game over![/url]

Plenty of time left in this one, though it is an ABYSMAL start from Engerland... good tight bowling from the Aussies though and just enough movement in the air to make it difficult

Oh go home... his fingers were definitely beneath it (and anyway, even id it didn't, which it did, it'd make up for the LBW decision first ball 🙄 )

Who's first ball? Broad's first didn't hit him on the pad.

Forgive me, but given the overcast conditions and headingley's reputation for swing I'd assumed that we'd been put in having lost the toss.

The weather forecast for tomorrow and Sunday is good and will be a good time to bat - so what the **** was Strauss thinking of??

(10/10 hindsight)

Well at least we've passed our lowest total at Headingly, and looks like we should get 100.

What do you reckon on our chances at the Oval - looks like we'll be needing a win (though realistically we always needed to win one of these matches)?

Actually, why are we being so pessimistic? According to the Hawkeye stats we've still got 10% chance of winning this (and almost as much chance of salvaging a draw)!

Two landmarks in one - 100 runs, 53 innings 🙂 Got to take the positives from this!

You can edit your posts, brassneck, or given we've now gone past 100 you could just leave the first and edit the 2nd 😉

And that, as they say, is that... top half-days work from the Aussie bowlers 😀 Now to see if our batsman can carry it on and twist the knife a bit 😈

I do think Harmison will be a bit of a handful, the pitch looks to have a bit of bounce in it, should suit him

edit: though I don't know about 8-20 🙄

Because, sadly, natural order has been restored to the Universe.
