Now that i'm grown up and own a company the username 'anus' doesn't seem an appropriate representation of the high quality services I shall be providing.
How can I change my username to be more fitting with the business...i.e. the company name?
I didn't find any obvious way of contacting forum help but if there's a better way than this please let me know and delete the post.
To be fair, many of the managing directors of companies that I have met have been arseholes, so you might be ok.
You could report this thread to bring it to the attention of the moderators. I suggest adding a j to make Janus, seems appropriate being a beast with two personalities (heads).

you could try email "tech at singletrackworld dot com" (FFS the formating is shite nowadays) but going by past history, stop using this one and start a new one. Don't use both or they may think your upto no good.

Well I was hoping I wouldn't have to close the account what with the forum history associated with this account, i've used it for about 10yrs (and more before the hack under another name). Not that there's anything special about my history, more just that I have been an active user for years and you can see that from my profile therefore you all trust me! But maybe no one cares about that...?

Depends a bit on you really. STW can appear high in searches (even anon ones) so if you get into a spat with someone you can't resolve it and it might appear before anything that you want to appear. It's not a bad thing, it's just outside your control. Some folks do it well (Brant, Shand), others not so well.
Go for Annus Horribilis, folk would still spot the connection. A**e, ****, Girls would probably work too.

If you are offering biking holidays then you do need a decent name. You also need to generate trust. So I would suggest using your real name.

Before my time if so. But yeah, that's the point, trolls can troll and then go "hey, anonymous" when their history catches up with them.

It was before the Great Hack, I used to swap usernames, partly for fun, just because I could, but also because I was trying out several different names, to see which one I preferred.
Then came the day Things Changed, and I kind of got stuck with the one I’m still using now. Pity, I’ve been bored with it for years, and I’d love to change it for one I’ve used in other places, but I guess that isn’t likely to happen. 😕

Sounds like you got a bum deal with your username. Let's hope the mods have the moral fibre to change it once they log on. Of course, they might poo poo the request if they think it'll lead to data leakage.
There was a morning following an 'upgrade' where people could change their usernames - even to other existing usernames.
My what jinks were had.
Then they changed them all back and disabled the function.
But they didn't change the user profile description so anyone who was mucking about at the time now has a description (which they can't change) of the last name they chose that day but their original username.
Not a lot of people know that.
Shurely there is way to fix this through a back door?
