You can actually see the Sea from the top of it.

It's a great focal point when riding around the forest, if you get lost.. just look for it.

Wow!

You'd certainly look like a bit of a prick if you paid 3 million for that steeple in the OPs link

For three million quid round here you'd get a moderately large house next to a load of Chelsea players.
I'd have the 'house' in Shropshire.

I have driven past that property. Certainly noteworthy. £3m no chance.

I bet it's a total nightmare to live in though, so narrow, every single room must be on a separate floor ! Sitting in the living room and want to pop to the garage ? Four or five flights of stairs down, then back again.

Hang on - the Shropshire option HAS ITS OWN CEMETARY. I've never seen that before !

My folks used to live in a converted church - it was a bit weird looking out your kitchen window on to tombstones.

"it was a bit weird looking out your kitchen window on to tombstones."

But that place is chuffin' huge, x10, plus a bit. The master bedroom will be larger than my entire house. The kitchen will be underground. Servants do not need to be taking any of that valuable daylight.

I wish I had the money. I really really do. That is an amazing house. But the purchase price is sort of irrelevant, it needs a whole team of full time staff to look after it and if you don't have the means for that it doesn't work.

For comparison - last year my brother sold his flat in North London for £715k. It had two bedrooms and needed a load of work. The world is mad.

Only £14,000 a month with the 'handy' mortgage calculator.

That house in the OP would be a nightmare to clean. How high is that mantelpiece in the living room? Not 100% sure from the pictures, but it also looks like there are cupboards in the kitchen that you'd need a cherry picker to get access to. Madness!

If there are any other Structural Engineers reading this thread, the tallest unreinforced concrete tower just has to be in a village called Sway. It may not be much of a joke to anyone else!

It's the 80's B&B chintz that would have to go. Those interiors are grim.

I think that one in glasgow may belong to my mate's dad!

He was a mate at uni and played off the whole glasgow hardman image. Expected him to live in a high rise in the gorbels, turned out he was the son of a multi millionaire business man who had stone lions outside his gate.

Wow. Was relaying this to my dad the other day as he used to live in Sway. He used play as a kid in that tower. It was derilict where the bottom was a chicken coup.

All the children from the school used to play and climb the concrete stairs, this was considered a hazard so TA were called to blast the stairs since they were solid concerte

It layed derilicet for may years he seems to recall it used to be a hotel

There are other towers surrounding this one these were built to prove the design until the largest one was constructed. It's the tallest concrete structure in the world. Has no reinforcement just concrete. Quite a feat considering when it was built

One suspects you'd need cash for that one in the OP.

Craigallan has been for sale for a good while now... obviously they're not actually wanting to sell it or it'd be gone by now.

The Shrewsbury thing... just no.

All Ican think, about them all, is how cold they must be!
