Oh Goody.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67271423

Did Australia withdraw their bid because there's no point spending money on it if a wealthy opponent can just buy the FIFA delegates like Qatar and Russia did?

On the positive side you may get to witness the highest ever premier win. Maybe double figures.

Bit quiet in here. At the very least I was expecting another rant from binners.

I bet Newcastle can’t wait to play us on Wednesday. They could stick their reserves out and still walk it

Premonition of the season contender

I didn't even watch it. I knew what the outcome would be - another pathetic capitulation - so why put myself through it?

Ironically, I went out for a nice meal with Mrs Binners instead, funded by her recent winnings on betting against us. We had a lovely evening (she knows how to keep me happy - buy me pie) which was infinitely preferable to swearing profusely at the telly.

I expect (as the Toon fans loudly predicted) they'll sack Ten Hag on Saturday after we lose 3 nil to Fulham and the whole rinse and repeat cycle will continue with whichever mug they get in next.

I'm past caring

I didn't see that coming.

When I saw the teams I thought Man Utd would coast it, on paper they were way better.

However, they are absolutely shit. They have some horrible characters in that team as well.

They were lucky to get away with 3 - 0, should of been down to 10 in the 1st half.

At least Maguire got an assist though.

Neil Warnock just made me laugh with his comments on Ten Hag. You have to laugh really as its true...

“I don't think he'll last and I'm not sure he wants to. I don't see a happy environment. Some of the players he's spent £60/70m on, I wouldn't have had at Huddersfield!”

I was at OT last night and it was probably the worst game of football I've ever seen. And I'm a Bradford City season ticket holder! 😁

There's nothing there; no passion, no fight, nothing.  The players reflect Ten Hag, they all basically stood there with hands in pockets doing nowt.  Tough times ahead for sure 😕

The squad have downed tools again. Same as they've done with all the previous managers. Cue: sack the manager and we start the whole depressing cycle once again. Perhaps they could get Bill Murray in next...

I know you keep saying "it's the owners" but how are the owners responsible for this attitude of the team and manager time and time again ? Surely the players, manager etc have to have a level of responsibility for the situations ?

I've said it a few times, i just don't like Ten Hag's ways, and i mean off and on the pitch, but who do you get in, there's not many who would even contemplate ManU just now, especially if you have a squad as eclectic as theirs, i think you have to stick with him for a while, maybe get a Director of Football in who can take some of the burden away, back him with getting rid of who he wants ASAP and so on.

Still not sure why they didn't go for Kane, they need a world class player and captain material just now, and as much as i can't stand Kane, he is both of those.

Maybe time for another big squad change in January.  If the for sale sign goes up I'd have Eriksen back at spurs if the price were right, he'd be good back up for madders.  We need a quality back up cb too but don't think you've got one of those.

I'm not sure Kane would have gone to man u.  The sole thing he wants is a winners medal and tbf, man u weren't looking that strong.

Kane probably knew Utd would play him wide & he'd have to do everything himself.

They bought ETH in with a rep as a disciplinarian, turns out all he can do is piss players off at that level. He's not improved anyone & players have gone backwards under him.

Reckon if they did sack him they'd try & get De Zerbi from Brighton, or Graham Potter - I think he's still free.

I think Kane would have gone there, but doubt that Levy would let him go to another Premier League club.

I think Potter will be the perfect fit for them!

I was saying the other day to the kids at the Amex after the Ajax game, that when De Zerbi goes (and I'm fully aware that at some point he will) it's gonna sting way more than any other player or coach that has left us. Way more than when Zamora left for Spurs or even Murray to Palace.

Everyone is at fault, but what do you expect? The whole club is a total shambles. Just look whats gone on with the sale/non-sale thats been dragging on for 12 months (as predicted). Everything comes from the top down.

From completely clueless owners who couldn't give a shit about the club and just see it as a cash cow, right down to players who all look like they just can't be arsed. And why would they? They pick up their millions no matter how woeful the performances are. Transfer policy appears to be to pick random names out of a hat then pay 80 million quid for them. We all know what happens next. The owners will just sack yet another manager and get the next fall guy in. And on the moneymaking juggernaut  goes...

Gary Neville summed it up last night, as he has so many times

Or, that OT legend, Steve Bruce. Great player, nice bloke, pundits loved him at Newcastle when the fans wanted him out. 👍

Its going to be mildly interesting to see who they get in when they sack Ten Hag on Saturday afternoon after the loss to Fulham. I'm sure the Glazers are already in talks with the next chump daft enough to carry the can for a year or so and purchase the next few 80 million pound donkeys on 7-year, half a mil a week contracts

I can't see why anyone would want the job

But he was responsible for one of the greatest football chants ever, from his own fans..

When you're sat in Row Z and the ball hits your head...

...thats Zamora

Genius! 😂

Can they hold sacking him for another week until Luton have played them?

Ten Hag has a veto on transfers, so he has agreed to all the transfers under his watch, all £380m odd of them. So he agreed to Casemiro and his crazy long contract, Antony, Onana, Mount, and the punt on Hojlund who looks to be a crap Darwin Nunez.

His comment after the City game was telling ‘I cannot get these players to play like Ajax.’ I bet he said the reverse at his job interview! And he’s agreed to these players being signed and then admits he can’t get them to play how he wants.

I’m not usually up for sacking managers early ish but he’s out his depth here and has lost the players. Bit leftfield but I’d give it to someone like Kieran McKenna, what a job he’s done at Ipswich.

Absolutely no chance.

Man Utd will wany a massive name and the fans will turn very quickly if he didn't get off to a perfect start.

He was managing in League One just over a year ago.

dander has it - don't forget where he learnt his managerial skills, the connection is there, finally got us out of League One and doing well in tne Championship.

And after last night, already has experience of losing to Fulham. Perfect fit for the Man U job.

That was exactly what I was going to say. He's having a good season, no doubt about it, but he's not used to managing the prima donnas that Man U have – they need someone with proven experience at the top level.

I know they won’t but appointing big names hasn’t exactly worked. Fair chance McKenna will be managing in the PL next season anyway. Suspect they will target de Zerbi. Or finally get Poch when Chelsea boot him.

Double checked on Wikipedia:
Under 18 coach at Man U - 2016-2018
Assistant Manager at Man U - 2018-2021

I agree they probably want a more prominent name, but probably worth a tenner of MrsBinners money!

De Zerbi is on the list for better run clubs that manu, I think he can leave it till the end of next year to get a good job before he might think about ruining his reputation at old trafford.

Whilst naturally, my heart bleeds for Binners and co. I feel obliged to point out that Newcastle beat that shower with 7 players that were there before the takeover. We had 5/6 full-backs line up at kick off and our 2 centre-halves had ONE game between them in something like 400 days. Eddie Howe continues to amaze and impress me.

Whilst the plight of Man U isn't remotely as bad as that threats facing Sheffield Wednesday, Reading, Wigan, Southend etc I do remember well what is like when the anger and frustration burns out and you just feel apathetic. Newcastle was a zombie club for most of Ashley's reign. Treating water and keeping the dividends going. People went to the match through habit or obligation, many just went to town for a pint or eight with their mates and the match sort of got in the way.

So I'm conflicted. I've grown up having to listen to the self-entitled, arrogant Man U fans tell us they're the best club on earth but also do have some sympathy with the fans who only have an expection of a club that is half well ran and a team that represents their community. They're an awful long way from both of those right now.

You can talk about sacking ETH and new managers all you want but nothing changes in the long term until new owners come in.

Big team content.

In another place - I see Bayern got dumped out of their cup competition by Saarbrücken

- 3rd division, the other night. Excellent.

Maybe it's just that ETH is a shit manager? He has Steve Mclaren as his deputy FFS!

Maybe its all the above?

It seems really odd that at the back end of last season we were actually playing some decent football under TH, we signed players to strengthen expecting the team to kick on, then watched in amazement as the team regressed by an absolutely staggering level and now look like a pub side

ETH is clearly not shit but he's completely the wrong manager for Man U. McLaren is however excellent at putting cones out and maximising the effect of his few stands of hair.
