Any recommendations on where to eat in Lockerbie? Bar meal or the like.
We will be travelled down the M74 on Thursday evening and will be looking for somewhere to eat that's better than the usual motorway services fayre.

Lockerbie truck stop.

One of the delivery drivers we get was going on about it so I decided to take a look when I was passing. Good food, good price, friendly (not a trucker only place). Well recommended (you can even get a pint for the passengers).

Queens hotel (signposted at southern end of town) was decent grub when I worked over there

there is a cafe we use for quick stops when I go up to see dad, blue frontage, on the way UP we come off at lower jnc, head Lockerbie town and after T lights it's on the left (looks like High St on map, with street parking outside, or down dead end Gardiners Close ? I'd say then join again at next jnc

Carry on a bit further, and either rheged just off the M6, or Tebay services. Both reasonable grub.

As good as Tebay is the truck stop is considerably cheaper and just as good. Not to mention actually near Lockerbie.

Best bet would be to stop off 15-20 mins earlier, dive into Moffat and tuck into something at the Buccleuch - http://www.buccleucharmshotel.com/

I stayed in a hotel about 8 miles North of Lockerbie on the road that runs parallel to the M74. Can't remember its name but they did a good pint of Belhaven Best and the food was standard pub fayre, which was all we needed after a big day on the bike.

Come off at Moffat, there's far more choice there. Several hotels that do decent food and really good restaurants like Brodie's or Caudios.

Plus you can get yourself some Moffat Toffee if the shop is still open.
