This is the situation I will find myself once again. So it looks like an assault on Snowden is going to be put on hold, but we have accomadation booked. Alternative natural route suggestions please, we will probably do Penmachno on the sunday. Not to intrested in the Marin Trail. Go on Watson!

Walk up to the Dinorwic top reservoir and shin over the fence round the surge pond to watch the water going up and down in the pipe then work your way back down through the quarries doing a bit of light "bouldering" (ahem) as you go.
In the bottom of the biggest quarry you will be so close to the generator hall that you will be able to hear the gens humming through the bedrock.
