We will be in touch
Just been for the usual hour round the fields with the dog and came across a load of tipped waste. Three big piles prob about 50 bin bags of household waste and a load of wood and stuff.
Now the area is pretty secluded and has a track wide enough for a van to get down where it opens up a bit before the woods get all bumpy and like. A couple of footpaths go through the area as well as local kids building bike jumps and stuff. Peeps go down with RC cars, loads of dog walkers etc. All within 200 meters of my house, nice place.
So this is what greated me....
Now the dog is a bit rubbish but he's mine. After a bit of a look through I noticed a load of mail, had a rummage and came across two letters with the same local address on.
I kept the letters as evidence and will report it to the council tomoz so they can get it cleared and hopefully prosecute the cretins.
Now as an aside I'm very very tempted to go round and put dog poo on the door handles, dump a few of the bags in there front garden etc.
What says you? Who's got the best imagination???
Chimney?
Superglue in all the locks
You could load it up and dump it in the garden of the address? 😈
Unless they have paid someone else to take it away ofc...
The person addressed in the letters might not be the person who dumped it - they may have paid someone in good faith to have the stuff disposed off properly and that person will have dumped it to avoid paying the landfill tax on it (the fact that they have several instances of their address in there sort of confirms that really). That won't get them off the hook with the council - they'll seek to prosecute both the person who dumped it and the person who thought they were paying for legit waste removal. I'm sure the actual fly tipper won't have been so dumb as to leave a paper trail with their customer though.
I encountered something like this in one of the woods near me and was also filled with rage. I did some rummaging and found some letters with an address. However, after cycling home and having time to think about it I realised this was probably someone who had been paid to clear a house - maybe a landlord paying for someone to clear up after some tenants had left the house in a bit of a mess. As annoyed and angry as I was I did not pursue it as I couldn't imagine the police being able to follow a trail for something like this which would probably be very low on their priority list. I was glad to see the council or landowner had cleared it by the next week but sometimes wonder if I did the right thing. Incidentally some horse riders saw me rummaging through the piles of stuff and gave me the oddest look. I explained how angry I was and was looking for anything incriminating to report. They appeared unconvinced!
mokl, do you look like this?
😀
OP - if you get no where with the council then take a photo and sign up to twitter and get tweet happy with it. Maybe you can start a trend of people posting fly tipped rubbish on social media to shame the people who's rubbish it is. Maybe blank out the exact address but leave the name, town and start of postcode. I bloody hate fly tipping too!
Report to the police. AND dog dirt on the door handles. Belt and braces, this sort of behaviour is beyond the pale and deserves action.
Environmnet agency and local council.
Used to go to college with lots of people from the Environment Agency. They used to investigate fly tipping and told me that they search the rubbish for things like letters.
Doesn't matter if somebody has paid for rubbish to be taken away, at least they should know who they paid.
Once had a litter of kittens dumped on the doorstep of the practice in the pouring rain. Took them in before the box collapsed and bedded them down in a kennel and fed them.
Examined the box before crushing it to put in the recycling. Hmm it had an address still stuck to it along with a very recent invoice from an online retailer.
Rang our local RSPCA Inspector who paid them a visit. Peoples stupidity never fails to amaze me.
It is quite possible that they just couldn't be bothered to go through their own rubbish before binning it.
So report and to make up for the kittens smear some cat poo on their door handles.
Yeh I'm guessing that it's been someone paid to do it due to letters bent in there.
That said the kind of people who would do this arnt exactly the most intellectual.
Getting reported in the am.
Might have a drive past the house tomoz and see if its vacant.
mokl, do you look like this?
andyl, how did you get hold of that picture?
As Far As I Recall, if you have evidence of someone fly tipping & they are prosecuted as a result...you get a reward! (I mean £££'s not payback from the perps BTW)
