Need to flush the coolant system in a car, but do not have access to a hose pipe or dirtworker etc. Car cannot be moved either at the moment.

Any bright ideas on how to get some water flushing though the system?

Thinking of a length of hose, a funnel, and a bucket or two.

Thought about getting a large watergun and attaching a length of hose to that ( with the added advantage of having a toy afterwards!! ) but they only hold about a 1 litre of water and may blast water in too harshly.

Why not just drain the system, run it on clean water until it warms up, drain and repeat until cack stops coming out?

Or. (**Disclaimer** - I have not done this, but lets get creative)

Disconnect the bottom pipe and stick it in a bucket of water. Stick something under the radiator to catch the waste. Run the engine.

yeah could do thanks. Gonna be using a product though I think it needs to have cold water run through without pressure. Also at this stage not sure if it's just the rad or the whole system that I use the product in.
Just looking into things at the moment and trying to generate some ideas.

Thanks though worth considering.

im curious as to how it can be worth flushing your rad but not worth finding a hose ? - do you suspect a blockage ?

do you live in a 3rd floor flat ? can you not just run a hose from your/your neighbours kitchen tap ?

No chance of a hose at all. Thanks think I've solved it now.
