grab some musical history with the legends 🙂
Forgot just how good these are!
Remember when they released Albatross? I was in the 2nd year of Grammar School - Albatross was a complete game-changer.
Only good when Peter Greene was there.
Interesting - I didn't reckon Peter Green. I saw him at Croydon about 10 years ago, John Mayall was on the same bill. JM energetic and charismatic, PG rather insipid I thought.

+1

Certain indulgences took their toll and he's been 'fragile' since the late 60s. Saw him on the same tour (I think) and he started more than one song without his guitar plugged in/turned up, but there were flashes of brilliance. Man of the World was just perfect.
Don't rate any of the MOR post-Green stuff.
If you like Albatross, you should probably give a listen to [url=
Side of Heaven[/url].
When I was in high school (Jr or Sr year, IIRC) the Tango in the Night was real big. So that led me to Rumors which I ordered through one of those record club deals. In college, there was a used record store nearby where I bought cassette tapes for $2-3 each so I heard a lot of the older Fleetwood Mac stuff plugged into my Sony Walkman on the way to and from classes.
Fleetwood Mac wasn't big in the US till the self-titled "Fleetwood Mac" album, then Rumors was HUGE. Most people in the US only know the band from this point forward and have no idea bout the older blues influenced era. They think Black Magic Woman is a Santana song!
Edit - and they also don't know that "Oh Well" is a Mac tune either. Another version (by the Rockets, I think) gets a lot more airplay.
It's all about Peter Green for me.
Peter Green is a legend but i also love Danny Kirwin as a guitar player.
Him and Peter Green together were awesome.
I liked the Peter Green era but that doesn't make the 'American' Mac any less enjoyable - just different:
@ Edukator, totally agree, very talented group of musicians. I've always loved this funky gem from Christine McVie, starts with an awesome drum break too.
So I had a nice little night ride this evening, and I couldn't get Albatross out of my head! That was a good thing as my legs were sore from running yesterday and the tune took my mind off of the sore legs.
