Kids room upstairs we have a 26 tv to mount to wall.
It's an LG and there is a small transformer which comes with it.
Stud wall and I've ran an aerial lead and some 240v cable to the area.
Haven't got a mount yet but now I'm thinking is there room between the tv and the wall for plug socket transformer etc
How close to the wall do these brackets fit?
Or do I just sink a hole in the wall and put the plug, transformer Tec in the wall cavity?

Personally I wouldn't be happy with a heat source in the wall, but it's up to you. A proper bracket will be millimetres from the wall, but there is nothing stopping you from spacing it out.

Cheers.

Heat source as in the transformer?

Cavity is plasterboard, no insulation

Might be an option to sink plug socket into wall and have transformer hidden behind tv

It's a converted attic so there is a crawl space under eaves so could d stick transformer in there and lengthen wire to tv

PSUs generate heat

Better quality ones, less so but I wouldn't have one buried anywhere either

If it's plaster board to brick then maybe sink the transformer below the mounting points but cut a hole around it to enable it to breath properly then.

Stud wall between two rooms.

I wouldn't hide it, if it overheats you won't know. And if you want to put a fixing in from the wall behind then it could cause a problem. I'd leave transformer by socket and lengthen the cable to the tv.
