I need to fit a cooker hood vent for building regs (not allowed to just vent into the kitchen apparently).

Am I right in thinking I just drop one of these:

into the top of my cooker hood, and then use one of these:

to drill a hole then fit vent to external wall?

No electrics required I think? Anyone done this have any tips?

would depend on the hood. If it's one that's deisgned to be vented then probably ok. Some are designed to recirculate air and might not work the way you want though.

as long as hood already installed and wired up then no additional electrics required, though.

That's one option.

I've tended to use the hard ducting in the past where this is a bit more important than it is with the flexi hose. Ducting is usually easier to hide/disguise if you're interested in keeping a nice clean finish indoors.

My drilling advice would be to drill at a slight downwards angle (assuming you start at the inside) so that any rain, moisture, dampness drains outwards and not into your kitchen.

Nice, I wouldn't have thought of that. Cheers!
