When I was at primary school, some kids whose families had video players, were watching stuff like Driller Killer, I Spit On Your Grave, Cannibal Holocaust and all sorts of video nasties.

ISOYG is especially unsuitable for kids. WTF were their parents thinking, renting the things, let alone allowing their kids to watch them??? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Fortunately, only a couple of people I was at school with ended up with violent criminal records. I was one of them, and my parents din't even have a TV.

Not sure seen loads as a kid parents were happy to let us watch and did us no harm at all. Unlike those people who never had a TV.

Well, when other kids were indoors vegetating, I was out constructing incendiary devices.

Or reading books...

Warriors come out to play-yay

My first X rated was either the exorcist or Zombie Flesheaters - can't quite remember which was first - at my pals house, when video players were only for the rich - early 80's. I was about 13 - scared the bejeezus out of me

warriors was mine too ๐Ÿ™‚

skived off school round me mates house and watched warriors and then the exorcist. wasnt it out same time as he wanderers? (double bill at the flicks IIRC) wanderers looked good in the trailers but was total garbage! over the next few weeks, months and maybe years, saw all those other nasties as well. all the cannibal ones (remember cannibal ferox?) which we thought were gory at the time, but im sure would be pretty dated now ๐Ÿ™‚

in fact thinking back to spit on your grave and ferox etc, the acting really was crap wasnt it!!

A few of us were doing Acid, once, and some bright spark decides it would be a good idea to put Evil Dead on.

Not Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii; not Koyaanisqatsi; not 2001; no.

Evil ****ing Dead.

When we're tripping off our heads. Genius... ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ™„

My dad got us Return of the Evil Dead or something like that when I was about 6 and my brother was about 5. We cried for a month and Mum had some pretty severe words with Dad! He did it again just after though I remember and got us something like American Ninja and my brother almost killed my fighting with broom handles with buckets over our heads!

Funny we managed to play outside and watch videos, you know at night when we couldn't go out.

Crikey, no idea which was the first but Warriors, Exorcist, all the Living Dead, The Omen, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Evil Dead, Tommy, Death Race 2000, Rollerball etc etc etc etc were amongst them.

We were one of the first to have a video (dad was a TV repairman ๐Ÿ™‚ so we spent the summer after leaving school at 15/16 yrs old watching film after film after film.

I recall choosing films based on the 'topless ladiees' potential. ๐Ÿ™‚

Pity I never came across this one though... Mmmm. horror and s3x

Animal Farm

No, not the George Orwell version. Our babysitter and her boyfriend brought it over one evening and I watched it crouched behind the sofa out of sight.

Never viewed a chicken in the same way again and still don't eat eggs.

I saw quite a few 18 rated films as a kid, due to my brother's movie choices when he was left babysitting me. My first was when I was 8 years old, and was the cinematic classic, 'They Live', starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. It made me scared of wearing sunglasses for months!

The Thing. I was 11 and it was in the summer holidays in 1983, and it's still one of my favourite films!

Nice one WCA - have you got a copy? I never have seen that film.
My niece has never forgiven me and the wife for watching the Exorcist while we were baby sitting her. She's grown up mentally inscarred though (I think)

Probably on the web.

I was only 10 or 11 at the time so it was more interesting that sexual. Still, nice variety of different cute animals.

Also was the first time I realised dogs didn't do it doggy style. They mount like than then sort of spin around and reverse in. Goats, pigs and horses do do it doggy style though which was a bit confusin to an 11 year old.

Lenny - far tamer than the video nasties. Couldn't see why it was an X then and still can't now.

I can also remember some sex/horror double bill about Nazi Zombies with the second film about Russian soldiers rounding up Nazi (women) solidiers in a cave, raping them killing them. My mate had persuaded me to go along as he reckoned it was the best film combo that had ever come to town (we were 16 at the time). The Confessions films, Emmanuelle etc, all very tame but I freaked when out of my box watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Nightmare on elm street. Can't remember the film, but i remember it had a trailer for a film where a guy was getting chased up a swimming pool by a boobie, to the music of jaws.
