..of being redundant.
It's just gone 10am & i'm bored rigid already.

Can't even ride my bike because my ankle is still badly swollen due to my attempted mugging two weeks ago.

After being in the same job for 23yrs i'm kind of at a loss as to what to do!

Step away from the internet. Get a newspaper, and read all of it. Then it will be time for lunch.

As the Co. went into recievership i've not recieved any redundancy money or pay in lieu. I'll get some of it eventually but what little money i have i need to hoard.

strip and clean bikes. Set up gears so they work better than ever, remove tyres, re fit tyres so logos match up with rim logos, clean all your tools/ tool box. sort through things in your house that you don't need and ebay them for beer money (don't buy anything!). Tidy the house, read books, go the library and find a volunteer project to fill your time (and CV).

That was enough to fill a day of unemployment for me. I became so bored and anally tidy that I swore never to retire!

I was in engineering - kind of.

We did CNC stuff, CAD/CAM, small part routing & engraving in non-laserable materials like aluminium, copper, brass, phosphor bronze, various plastics etc. Did a lot of engraving in various laminates & the above materials as well.

Bit of a specialist trade really & not much of it about.

Just been down into town to volunteer my services at with Link4Life, a trust Co. set up by Rochdale council to promote healthy living/activity within the Borough.
Ideally i want to get into that Co. as a MTB leader/instructor with kids and adults. Need to get some qualifications first but volunteering should be a good start.
Might as well do something i enjoy now i have the opportunity/need!
