Yeah we had the same - though fireworks are par for the course here, so I wasn't sure if it was option 1), 2), or 3) Ottery St Mary residents just using up extra combustible material they had lying around.

We had some too. Though whoever was setting them off was useless and there were gaps of minutes on end between fireworks. It's no wonder why we lost the americas if we can't set off a few firecrackers at once 🙂
I must admit to enjoying the mild risk of seeing how close and how many I can launch at once come November...
We’re celebrating by being defeated by Covid, the Tories, alcoholism, ourselves, and again by America a second time around. Winning! The best thing about being English is referring to everything as a ‘victory’.
Why not both? The fireworks will scare the Covids away, that's just the power of science.
