MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I've got an ageing notebook with loads of photos on it (it's been my only computer for a few years) that's now been replaced with a new laptop.
What's the best way to transfer all of them over? The internetz is rubbish here (2mbps tops) so uploading them and then down loading again will take a zillion years or so.
Depending on what drive is in the old notebook you may be best taking the disk out and putting it in to a USB drive caddy.
The other option is USB removable disk, copy the photos to that and then back on to the new one.
If they both have Ethernet ports then connect them using a crossover cable.
Have both on your network preferably using Ethernet but wifi is ok. Share the pictures folder on the old one and connect to it from the new laptop using its IP address. Plenty of guides how to do this. Then do a simple file/ folder copy.
Fastest way.
Winner, cheers guys
