Zero sympathy. Clearly the family doormat. Grow a pair.

Do you ever post anything positive?

Turns out it could get worse.

There's a themed party night. Apparently we "have to" dress up as something piratical.

🤔

Somali Pirate for the win.

And if you try and take on a replica AK-47 you may even get turned away before you board - so double-win! 🙂

Parrot?

I want to feel sympathy because it sounds like an absolute nightmare, but actually my thoughts are more aligned with grahamt1980 🤣

You have my sympathies. We recently had a weekend away for Mrs S celebrating her 60th and had a fancy dress evening. Theme was "flappers" which had me stumped for a while but I ended up thusly...

You can tell my level of commitment as I had to shave off (most of) my winter beardage.

I'd have gone in the parrot costume just above you.

I'd wear a hoody and sunglasses and go as a software pirate. After all, you wouldn't steal a car...

Rather than go the whole blackface somali pirate, which might be of questionable taste, I'm loving the parrot idea.

That was positive.

Do you ever go a day or an hour even without posting on here? You must live on this forum 24/7.  Tragic.

"it’s not a week. It’s from Sarfampton to a container port outside Brussels."

Ohh, that's too bad. At least if you went into Antwerp you'd get to see the Zaha Hadid building for about 45 seconds on arrival...

I’d let them wear whatever the hell they want, I’d be wearing one of a variety from this organisation’s shop. Yes, they’re legitimate, and I’m a member.

Somali Pirate for the win.
Oh. My. Yes.

Exactly my thought when I read that! And wearing a Satanic Temple shirt for added trolling. 😋

My missus suggested this:

The only question is do you see yourself as a Belladonna or more of a Sasha Grey type?

Well, the cruise up and down the English Channel is well underway. T-shirts have been provided but not yet worn, perhaps because I didn't supply my size when asked (apparently mine is either an XXL or an XXS).

Anyway, Disney is a cult. I spent an hour in a theatre last night with a thousand screaming fans watching a show about how great Disney is, by awarding itself awards named after itself given by itself to itself.

Then it was the pirate party. So I whipped out my best costume, as suggested on this very thread. With the punchline "I'm sure my invite said 'Parrot Party'..."

Just popped to the top floor for a stroll and a coffee. Around 0730 it was pretty quiet. As I wondered back to the cabin, the % of Disneyshit (tm) wearers increased exponentially which was interesting.

$18.40 for a beer and small popcorn last night in the theatre (including tip).

Loads of engineers working away on bits and bobs while no punters are around. The attention to detail* is really quite something. It's like the opposite of the UK standard approach to making profit, which is to stop all maintenance and cut staffing (MacDonald hotels - I'm looking at you here).

You get the real feeling that everything is monitored, measured and assessed to bleed as much money out of people as possible. Apparently this tub is going for refurb next month, but they're still polishing, sanding and touching up paint.

*Actually, not all... Exhibit A milud

What is going on with that chessboard?

Having been in the same clubs and done the same events for three decades it's quite easy for us to dress the same and it makes us smile. Going through junior's stuff recently we found some club jerseys in different sizes from his racing days, we gave them to him and he sent us a pic of him and his girlfriend wearing them on a bike tour.

It seems STW Ts sell well.

Go on, get the T-shirt, then wear until it falls off your back.

Edit: I missed the thread being months old and several pages long and highly entertaining, sorry for such a boring post.

"what am I missing?"

The board should have a white square at bottom right, not black - the board needs to be turned 90º. That also means the king and queen on each side will have to swap positions. The knights and bishops on the white side are in each others places (unless they're playing some sort of Fischer game).

...also, all those ****ing mice need to be scrubbed off the board.
