£120m a day in debt repayments aslone. Nice one Labour. Now we've got the bumbling Mekon and the Chancellor who lacks social interaction skills
I'm still waiting for confirmation of Ernie actually going to the demo 😉
then I can play "where's [s]Wally[/s] Ernie?" on News 24
Have we reached that point yet again where we see our childrens education and examins disrupted by teachers protesting about something that isn't the childrens fault?
Are you asking me?
There's been absolutely no talk of strikes at our place. Our children's education is going to be disrupted though, through larger class sizes and fewer staying on post-16.
Lots of deficit deniers here I can see - what a surprise
I'm no economist, but wasn't it much worse after WWII? And then we set about creating the welfare state.
Government spending can stimulate the economy. It's the Paradox of Thrift.

Not defending Labour, but isn't most of the deficit to do with bailing out the banks?
Tell me big and daft, how do you feel about your new alliance with trailmonkey ?
I mean on the face of it, it would appear to be a marriage made in hell. What with you being a right-wing reactionary Daily Mail type, and trailmonkey being a trendy pseudo-leftie Guardian reader, you wouldn't appear to have much in common.
But then I realised that the alliance between you two in slagging me off is in fact the mirror image of the Tory/Liberal Democrat coalition.
On the one hand you have David Cameron who is backed by Daily Mail readers, and the other Nick Clegg who is backed by Guardian readers - both united in screwing Britain.
So its interesting to note that the virtual world of STW reflects the real world of national politics - and what of course yesterday's demo was protesting against.
Servicing debt on PFIs
Lots of deficit deniers here I can see - what a surpriseLabour's spending was eye-wateringly out of control and utterly reckless, anyone care to disagree?
So was most of western democracies spending. Apart from Ireland/Greece and now Portugal which we were never in the same boat with, I don't see those western democracies taking cuts to the same extremes as the current Government.
But as a few people here who support these sort of cuts, it's not about how much debt the country is in, it's about using the debt as an excuse to reduce the state.
Ernie, phew that's a lot

was yours a "virtual" protest to complete the analogy?
or a protest by proxy?
I shall indeed be leafleting in an hour or so time, to publicise next Saturday's demonstration against government policies. So if anyone is in Croydon and wants to join us, we will be outside the Whitgift Centre (High Street side) from 12.30 pm.
just asking 😉
steady on nowand the other Nick Clegg who is backed by Guardian readers
Big n daft you dont actually seem to be doing much apart from baiting ernie PS if you want to look for a wally can I suggest you purchase a mirror?
Have we reached that point yet again where we see our childrens education and examins disrupted by teachers protesting about something that isn't the childrens fault?
know thankfully we are only at the point where the teachers are paying the price for something that was not their fault instead but on the plus side bankers are still getting their bonuses.
Wunundred! 😀
Big n daft you dont actually seem to be doing much apart from baiting ernie PS
sorry, I was just asking whether he attended the demo that he clearly supported and stated that he was trying to drum up more people to attend
I've also asked which was his "alternative" that he was marching for Miliband or "No cuts at all". Perfectly reasonable question really.
is it so bad to ask?
PS if you want to look for a wally can I suggest you purchase a mirror?
ouch!
for Ernie
in slagging me off
please quote me, I endeavour to avoid personal insults. If I'm "slagging you off" please illuminate me with how.
