Be grateful you dont have a dell 922 printer. If you dont use it for a bit it refuses to work until you uninstall and reinstall.
brother printer software is really pooh
possibly only beaten in the turdyness stakes by HP; whose printer drivers install 600mb of crap and add about 9001 startup items
i suggest you shit it up a bit with a screwdriver, then if it's still not listening, go to work on it with some bombers
