ten years gone
Can't choose. Nope. Can't do it.
Pends on what mood I'm in....
Whole Lotta Love to dance around the house naked to.
Black Dog for a nice porny atmos (heard it in a Swedish 'Special Interest' film when I were a young lad).
Immigrant Song when there's something bout asylum seekers on the telly and I need to get worked up.
Kashmir's a good one to contemplate life and stuff to.
Loads really.
Won Ton Song
....anyone.....?
Nope. Definately not wanton 😉
Rock'n'Roll... (or maybe Hot Dog {:P})
so far all good tunes but no mention of gallows pole? till now of course.
V difficult decision.
"In my time of dying" off physical graffiti is a personal fave
Would also second mmb on "Gallows Pole" - top tune.
Currently loving "Travelling Riverside Blues" from BBC sessions.
i like when the levy breaks
physical graffiti is my fave led zep album
Possibly Immigrant Song.
Another one here that likes "When the levee breaks".

tough one.....
dunno. Gallows pole is rubbish and annoying tho.
Physical Graffiti also my fave.
jez davies when you say bbc sessions do you mean the 69 and 71 sessions? if so that's a good choice dude!
It simply has, has, has got be Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.
Awesome!
Live version of "thank you" off the BBC sessions is up there with the best - awesome.

Yes, those are the ones.
Nah, "Rock 'n' Roll" deffo. Almost the perfect song.
@ mmb
Yes, those are the ones.
grapefruit, "thank you" is mine and the mrs's song! 🙂
Sweet choice mmb. On the rare occasion Mrs grapefruit and I could agree on a song we settled on "Got to get you into my life" by the beatles. On other days it can all get a bit "communication breakdown" - crackin'!
heartbreaker is the shizzle! the guitar half way tho...oh just so good
but then so is so many of there tunes. top quality!
Since Ive been lovin you.
i'm too young to remember 'led zep' - were they any good?
the first time i heard about them was when Rolf harris did a cover version of 'stairway to heaven'...
My iTunes says Tangerine. Though I'm amazed it isn't Misty Mountain Hop or D'yer Maker or Fool in the Rain, or Boogie With Stu, or Bron y Aur Stomp, or, or, or...
rolf bloody harris! i've hated him ever since, he should've been shot for that, ****!.
they just ****in rock!end of. its not just the lyrics or melody but the overal quality of the songs they made.very few bands come close in my book.
there you go, presedent set....
well said that man!.
Kashmir
Your time is going to come
Wanton schlong.
Dazed and Confused
Also Dazed & Confused here - just wish it was a longer track!
Mmm, tough one - as said earlier depends on my mood, but I'll have a go -
Off "How the west was won" - Over the hills
Studio album - In my time of dying OR Ten years gone OR Houses of the holy
"When the Levee Breaks" gives the hairs on the back of my neck a hard on.
another for when the levee breaks here, fantastic riff, thunderous drums from bonham and a fantastic song courtesy of Memphis Minnie
That's the Way, Immigrant Song, Kashmir, Black Dog.
Oh, and Ramble On. And The Ocean.
And In The Light. And When The Levee Breaks.
Dammit, there's too many.
Actually, Stairway to Heaven ain't that bad either.
Rock N Roll
although I've got an album of Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes live, and that version of heartbreaker is pretty good
Can't believe no one has mentioned 'Nobody's Fault but Mine' or'Achilles Last Stand' - Presence is my favourite album, like a shorter, neater version of Physical Graffiti. Even if the first song is ten minutes long.
Fave album has to be III
Best track on there... tough one. Bron Y aur stomp probably... at the moment anyway.
My copy cost me £1.99 in 1972/3... still got it in vgc. The condition is a surprise seeing as how it has been played so often.
Both been said but Ramble on & Bonzo at the beginning of When The Levee Breaks.
Great book - When Giants Walked The Earth by Mick Wall all about Led Zep & how they came to be & what they were. About the best music type book I have read.
Wow, too many,
Nobodys fault but mine,
houses of the holy,
Rock N Roll,
But my fave, comunication breakdown. Cast your mind back to earthed 1, Sam Hill, Bryn Atkinson and Nathan Rennie on bright yellow IronHorse's smashing Bromont. It wasn't a coincidence that my next two bikes were IronHorse and my CD rack filled up with Led Zep.

Since Ive been lovin you. +1
I like 'Gallows pole' too !
spent my formative years listening to Led Zep (amongst others) courtesy of my biker dad.
Thank You is my favourite.
I never really realise how much I like Led Zep until a thread like this crops up and I start thinking about my favourites and the 'short' list just gets longer and longer. But of them all, Thank You always wins.
NO QUARTER and a big spliff.
End of thread
Levee and How Many More Times
So no-one, not one person, is prepared to admit to the Stairway-shaped elephant in the room?
Yeah, right....
It's got to be Kashmir for me as well.
Now I think about it though, Misty Mountain Hop is up there too.
Oooh, and The Battle of Evermore.
Bugger.
Can I vote for Stairway too?
Zep 4 was the album that got me into the band, borrowed a mate's copy and taped it using the microphone on my Philips N2204 portable. Then pissed him off after I got to Smiths on the day Houses Of The Holy came out and bought it before he got out of work and they were closed. Ha! Always liked Stairway, and Battle Of Evermore, because of Sandy Denny, but I guess my two favourite tracks have to be Trampled Under Foot and Kashmir, as they followed on on the album. Something about those two just gets the hairs standing up. Saw them performed live at Earls Court, too. Awesome.
seems to me that many of us agree so many of their tracks were great and albums too! it good that it's difficult to choose and something like this defines a truly great band.
mmb - christ, that takes me back !
oh, and "Tangerine" pour moi
nickf - LOL at "the Stairway-shaped elephant in the room ... "
😉
Achilles Last Stand is pretty good, too.
Controversial, but- 'What is and what can never be' gorgeous bass riff 🙂
Impossible to choose just one! With the possible exception of in through the out door all their albums are classics. Can't think of another band I have listened to more over the past 35years. Now my kids are in to them too its great to hear Rock and Roll and Black Dog blasting out of my 13year olds room.
Are there any Led Zep tracks you don't like?
I really like the mellow stuff on physical graffiti best, like in the light and down by the seaside. Amazing band though.
Led Zep have so many good tunes that picking my favourite becomes very context specific for me -
Driving home on a cold dark night on an empty A9 - live version of No Quarter ( followed on playlist by live version of Better Living Through Chemistry by QoTSA)
Chilling on deck at home last night looking at the stars with my wife - Rain Song.
TonyL - 'In through the out door' had its merits ...the original vinyl had the paint by numbers thing on the inner sleeve. Just apply a damp brush to the picture of the guy in a bar (I think) and the colours came to life = awesome!
In My Time Of Dying is probably a standout, as is Dazed and Confused. Never really thought these tracks were all that brilliant until I got to see them live, which brought them, well, to life.
And I'm not ashamed to say that Stairway is still an absolute favorite.
It is ironic, is it not, that most people will state that 'Stairway' is their least liked number, that being the one that most people identify with the band?
I don't like it either, except for the drums. JB was the finest drummer ever IMO; we lost a very, very special musician when we lost him. I'm still a bit upset about it TBH.
Yeah, Bonham is one of the greatest drummers of all time, some of the fills in 'Achilles' are unbelievable, made a lot of the songs what they are -'Dazed and Confuzed' just wouldn't be the same with anyone else. Oh, and instead of buying one of those daft carbon Scotts or Treks that people post about on here, check this out:
Worth every penny. Remember, steel is real.
