I am on holiday in Cornwall at the moment and was about to ride in glorious sunshine across from Marazion to St just and then loop back via the south coast of the peninsula taking amazing photos as I went and submit an amusing and enlightening ride article to STW.

While getting changed to ride the mist has rolled in so I can barely see St Michaels mount.

The revised article now runs like this "Went for a ride. Couldn't see a bloody thing and the mist made me cold and miserable"

Can anyone suggest better articles for Mark and the team to run?

I think mine will be "New E-MTB , weighs 5kg, battery is small enoguh to fly with, 500km range, geom adjusts from 120mm climbing tight angles to 180mm descending slack angles with anything in between, ridiculouly low standover, tiny 10 speed gearbox in BB, for £3.5k."

Standardising standards - how the bike industry decided to adopt a single common axle size, brake mount, BB fitting and size, headset, bar size and seatpost diameter.

not sure if its up STW straße, but i would love someone to do a 'size' review. Get one or two riders, the same bike in 3,4 or even 5 different sizes and do a 'test' on how they ride, against the clock, climbing, descending etc etc, to see if having massive reach is good or if EWS riders on bikes 'too small' for them is good.

Outside of this... how many miles can you ride naked before something terrible happens.

I was half mulling over a ‘Now mainstream bikes are 5 figures, are you better going with a small artisan for your next MTB?’

Not sure how I could do it and appease all but the most ardent ‘’OW MUCH?’ Screamer.

Any takers?

I'll volunteer to write the next article about how none of this really matters and everyone should chill and stop going on about it.

Great British Divide Race 2… or 22 if it’s that much in the future.

Standardising standards – how the bike industry decided to adopt a single common …

..any-bloody-thing!
I was trying to explain to my son, how, of all the wheels I have none of them would’ve done as a spare for his that he killed at BPW, cutting our day short… see yours is 27.5 (650b), 148 boost, rear, with a Shimano freehub carrying a sram Eagle… oh, forget it, none of mine bloody fit!
And it matters, a lot.

Killer single-track route found near Blackpool; climbs, descents, flow and tech, it has it all, topped off with epic views across the Fylde coast and the Irish sea.

Trails by public transport - ideas for days or weekends that are close to trains (or even bus, if they take bike...).
How to series - trail building and repair, maintenance, camping by bike etc
Some of the longer distance trails - report, information etc.

A series about rides that subscribers have been on, good or bad, that have been sweetened by being on a day when they should have been at work. Call it Readers Skives.
