Following on from the other thread.
Lots came to mind but really Yesterday is a clear winner for me.
Hey Jude
spice up your life
Strawberry Fields.
Here Comes the Sun.
It must have been rubbish being George Harrison. In any other band he'd have been considered a musical genius. As opposed to 'the third best writer in the band, and a bit better than the drummer"
For me, without a shadow of a doubt...
A Day in the Life
Wonderwall. ๐ณ
Oh go on then...
Let It Be, almost entirely for Phil Spector's obsessive re-engineering of the sound from old scraps. Miles better than the 'naked' version of a few years back. A real example of the producer's art, whether or not you like the final result.
I genuinely struggle to think of any others that I'd listen to if they came on the radio.
Can't do one

Norwegian Wood - for the opening line alone...
Nick f, really?
I love Phil Spector stuff (apart from the murdering of course), but I really liked 'naked'. I think he only really added stuff to "let it be" and "the long and winding road" anyway
At the moment, Norwegian Wood, although that will probably change by tomorrow.
tomorrow never knows - psych bliss, awesome drums, way ahead of it's time
prob Dear Prudence - but done by Souxie (Can't stand the Beatles nasally scouse voices)
Grievoustim, sorry, should have said that I meant the track rather than the album.
That said, the Spector influence was more than just a few tracks. Certainly The Long and Winding Road, I Me Mine, Across The Universe and Let It Be all have a lot of Spector in them. Interestingly (for me, anyway) a lot of the Naked stuff is in any case the original that Spector managed to assemble from the crap (according to Lennon) he was given, only with the overdubs and the whole Wall Of Sound effects(loads of reverb/delay) removed.
All brilliant:
Helter Skelter
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Happiness Is A Warm Gun
I am the Walrus
Hey Bulldog
Day in the Life
Taxman
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Dear Prudence
Actually I do really like Let it Be, and Elanor Rigby is intense.
Here, there and everywhere
In my life
Blackbird
Fair point nickf
Have you seen any of the "fly on the wall" footage that was recorded during the making of the "let it be" album. Incrediblly tense and awkward scenes of bickering between the band, who obviously were not getting along at all at the time.
Apparently george quit the band at one point because yoko took one of his chocolate digestives without asking.
Fixing a Hole
I want you (she's so heavy)
Blackbird
Come together
You won't see me
Get back (on the roof live version)
She Came in Through the Bathroom Window.
Long long long.
Rocky Raccoon
Happiness is a Warm Gun.
Today it's this one...........depends on the mood
.. and your bird can sing
Magic.
Apparently a dig at Jagger, when he was going out with Marianne Faithful??
A day in the life
all you need is love
Just becaus eit has not had a mention
Early stuff I always liked we can work it out
Lady Madonna because my kids love it. One of them [5]when asked what his favourite day was said Sunday when asked why he said because it crept like a nun- the teacher got it and they discussed the beatles.
Going to the museum this Sunday in Liverpool with them
When I read the thread title my first thought was dear god I hope no one mentions Yesterday! ๐
Couldn't pick a favourite so can I have side 2 of Abbey Road.
Pertty much what Dezb said and more or less in that order.
Paperback Writer, especially that feedback George Harrison does on the intro before segueing into the riff.
Tomorrow Never Knows, Here, There and Everywhere and For No One are probably my favourites.
Emmylou Harris does a beautiful version of Here, There and Everywhere, which I love to bits.
Eleanor Rigby.
How the man who wrote that could go on to write the Frog Chorus is beyond me

Not a Beatles fan really but my favourite would probably be Tomorrow Never Knows. Quite like Taxman too.
Also as done by Lucky Sperms.... ๐
Baby you can drive my car. A pop song done perfectly.
Like Taxman too.
