Bulky refurb item from ebay company, has a fault, company has a 30 day return policy anyway.
Am I right in thinking they pay for return?

If its a business seller then yes, they should be paying

Just do it all through eBay. You can raise a return. The seller accepts it, then you can arrange postage through eBay. If they don't accept it then raise a dispute and again eBay will let you arrange postage.
