Any of you guys seen a false widow yet? I've not seen one and hope I never do. I know the media are making a massive fuss over them but still, I hate spiddys!

It's the way they move, it's not natural.

Extra internet points if you've managed to get your own picture of one eating a human.

I was thinking of making a movie, proper Arachnophobia styleee. With all the media hype it would be a huge hit, right?

Anyone want to be my first investor towards the film?

Move to Dartmoor.. We were dealing with them getting in the house on a daily basis.. They were particularly fond of the bookcase in the lounge, the tv cabinet and the kids toy basket..

Haven't been eaten yet, although one of the kids can fire webs from their fingertips

Not a girl no, It's how they move that freaks me out. I'm not scared of being eaten alive, don't worry.

Edit, Yes I am a girl.

Saw one today at work (in the sticks-ish).

Never seen one at home (near the city-ish).

Probably wouldn't recognize it if I saw it anyway, always in a glass and out the window.

Is it really that much of a story in the UK? There was a post on here about them 4 days ago.

They are beautiful little things. They can move fairly fast, if you are not used to spiders, but worth a close look.
There are a lot worse things to bite you than a steatoda
