I'm buying one off a colleague - what's a fair price to offer? (VGC)
E-bay has such a vast range, second hand go for about 100, but "refurbished" (whatever that is) go for 170ish.
Any help appreciated, I'd like to pay the fair price.

search on sold items and deduct 5% from the average.
refurbished will generally come with a warranty.
BTW I checked recently re. my 2gen 8gB and it seemed £80 was not unreasonable

You can buy an Apple refurb 32g 4th Gen for £170 from ebay. I recon about 90 - 120 depending on condition. The 4th Gen has the retina screen, accelerometer and gyro, the 3rd gen does not.
