Nothing I've eaten (for once).

There is a faint smell of gas from the cupboard where the supply comes into the house / meter kept etc (bizarrely more noticeable after it rains).

Do I ring this in to a general plumber, or 'the network' / people who look after the pipes?
I'm assuming the latter
Cheers

Service pipe/fittings might be corroded.

Don't wait, it really doesn't take much for things to go *really* badly wrong.

That was just up the road (literally) from my parents house.

Incredible how badly that went wrong!!

Weird, a colleague of mine was brought up about half a mile from there and went to primary school about 100 metres away.

We had that the other day, the meter is in the downstairs toilet, couldn't tell if it was just hoppy Jr blocking the big again initially. Called the number up there ^^ man was out and it was fixed in under an hour.

Flexible hose feed to the meter had a slight leak where it had corroded.

we had a really faint smell of gas whenever the place had been left for a few days. The sniffer device couldn't find a source but system failed a pressure test - presumably leaking into the solid floor somewhere

They came straight out, as predicted; picked up 'a minute trace'. ๐Ÿ™„

Which is why my driveway is being excavated as we speak (well as i type)

apparently they have used the jack hammers last night ( at kids bedtime) then they used a big henry to suck out the dirt
They are currently waiting for a mole.

I am 2000 miles away placing Chinese whispers trying to work out wtf is going on

Often found in groups on fences in the Dales...

As others have said ring the gas board.

We could sometimes smell gas and it was a seal on the regulator near the meter.

Replaced there and then with no charge.

Don't mess about with gas.
