Won't let me sign in with my apple Id, works fine for everything else, anyone help?

What error message is it returning when you try and sign in?
And which iPad is it? 1, 2 or 3?

It's an ipad2 it says could not connect, please check network connection

So have you checked you are connected to your WiFi network?

We had this , presuming you've got Internet access
1) check the date and time is set correctly on the iPad - set it to automatic.
2) if 1 is right you probably need to check that the right ports are open on your firewall.
